A look back at 2017…

It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone. With 60 weddings, 200 events & 85 golf tournaments this year we’ve certainly been busy at Sand Springs! We’re excited to take on another year and hope to make 2018 our best year yet. Our success would never be possible without all our amazing customers so THANK YOU to each and every one of you for entrusting us to host your special events and to be a part of long lasting memories!

With that being said, we’ve decided to feature a select few of our amazing wedding couples for 2017! We love looking back at all of our weddings we hosted this year. With 60 weddings for 2017, each of our couples brought their own style and personality and it was awesome to see everything come together each and every time!

Mike & Myla Bartenope, April 1, 2017

We kicked off our 2017 season with Mike & Myla’s beautiful wedding! The first wedding of the year is always great to look back on especially seeing how fast this year went. While the weather was just a tad bit too chilly to have any wedding activities outside, we hosted their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception inside our Celebrations Ballroom. What really stood out to us was how they incorporated Myla’s Filipino culture into their ceremony. For those of you who don’t know what a Filipino Ceremony is, it involves wedding sponsors, a coin ceremony, veil ceremony & cord ceremony. It was so wonderful seeing Mike & Myla embrace the Filipino culture with their family and friends surrounding them.

Luci & Leon John, May 21, 2017

Luci & Leon were such a fun-loving couple! They envisioned having a unique ceremony and reception while adding a bit of flare to the traditional aspects of a wedding. It all started with Luci’s gorgeous pixie cut wedding dress and led up to her sweet pup escorting her down the aisle to meet Leon. It was the most adorable ceremony entrance we’ve ever seen, and we loved every bit of it! As we continued into the Celebrations ballroom for the reception, the guests were met with fun succulent centerpieces. For dinner, they went with a completely custom outdoor-barbeque buffet including fried chicken and homemade mac and cheese. And to end the evening, they had a beautiful dessert display featuring their awesome donut cake! Yum!

Meghan Casey & Michael Marsicano, June 10, 2017

If you wanted to experience a chic-vintage style wedding, Meghan & Michael’s wedding was the place to be on June 10th. I remember meeting Meghan & Michael & hearing them talk about their vision for the big day…I knew it was going to be gorgeous! After their sweet ceremony, officiated by their high school teacher Katie, we went right into cocktail hour and enjoyed a sweet champagne signature drink with a cute edible pansy as a topping. As the guests entered the ballroom, the detail of their vision really bloomed. From the assorted unique candle vases, gold charger plates and sage napkins…the ballroom was stunning. We even got to see Meghan & Michael perform a choreographed first dance with one another – they looked like pros!

Jill & Dave Havrilla, July 22, 2017

Jill & Dave’s wedding was like a fairytale that you dream of as a little girl. While Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate that day we had a fun cocktail hour inside the ballroom while Jill & Dave snuck out for some sweet photos in between the rain showers. Jill’s elegant ballroom wedding dress made her look like a princess and Dave could not stop looking at her. Jill & Dave opted to have a band play at their reception (Powerplay) and they sure knew how to get a crowd up and dancing. The ballroom was beautifully decorated with gray floor length table cloths, silver Chiavari chairs and charger plates topped with a white rose fold napkin. And of course, we added in some sparkle featuring a glitter floor length cloth on the sweetheart table & cake table.

Tiffany & Mike Cicioni, August 5, 2017

Tiffany & Mike’s wedding was filled with so much joy, love and just overall excitement that day. Other than the weather being perfect that day, Tiffany & Mike looked perfect together. The Gardens was beautifully decorated with our white draping and raspberry color chair sashes and linens. To top it off, Tiffany & Mike included a dove release during their ceremony and boy did it make our hearts melt. While the guests enjoyed cocktails, Mike wanted to incorporate a cigar bar during cocktail hour as well – it was a big hit! The ballroom was set up with raspberry floor length linens, gold Chiavari chairs and romantic floating candle centerpieces. The rest of the night was filled with dancing and drinks and unforgettable memories for the new Mr. & Mrs.

Kera & Matt Wisniewski, September 24, 2017

While helping Kera & Matt plan for their wedding, I could feel their love for one another – they were just so excited to be husband and wife and had been waiting for this day for a long time. So Kera & Matt love their sweet pups and wanted to make them apart of the ceremony…so down they trotted with one pup in a white tutu & the other in a black tux. It was adorable! As we pulled back the white draping for Kera to walk down the aisle, Matt was overcome with emotion (and so were we!). Before the dancing started for the evening, Kera & Matt recorded a sweet message to one another for all their guests as well. The ballroom was decorated in purples and grays which was perfect for a September wedding!

Yuna & Tom Schlund, October 15, 2017

Yuna & Tom travelled all the way from New Jersey & New York to have their wedding at Sand Springs & we’re sure glad they did! October is one of our favorite months for weddings and they picked the perfect day. With the fall foliage just beginning, they had stunning photos taken on the golf course! Yuna & Tom’s wedding was very detailed from the outside draping Yuna created to the yummy Ferrero Rocher chocolates with their place cards. They even had fun little games at each table for their guests to take part in throughout the reception. Before the new Mr. & Mrs. Were formally introduced into the ballroom, Yuna changed into another beautiful wedding dress for their first dance. The night came to an end with a salty treat from our popcorn bar and it was a hit!

Kris & Jenny Brugger, November 11, 2017

Kris & Jenny’s wedding took place on a chilly November day, but that didn’t stop them from getting gorgeous photos out on the golf course! Jenny wore a beautiful fur shawl that made her look like a princess while her bridesmaids carried gold lanterns filled with baby’s breath. The ballroom was perfectly set showcasing our king table for the bride and groom and their bridal party along with unique hexagon tile place cards. Their guests even got to go home with yummy coffee bean favors! Jenny really wanted to surprise Kris with a groom’s cake too…so she did just that with a Phillies themed cake topped off with a bobble head replica of the two of them! The evening ended with a sweet sparkler send off for the new Mr. & Mrs. Brugger!

Kayla & Mark Martine, December 9, 2017

We had the honor of hosting Kayla & Mark’s wedding earlier this December. Mark is the son of our very own Executive Chef Mark Martine so this wedding was very near and dear to our hearts. Kayla and Mark went with a purple ambiance for the ballroom with beautiful homemade centerpieces! They also featured our brand-new love seat at their head table with their bridal party right beside them. With the grand Christmas Tree in the background, it made for a romantic winter wedding. Their guests enjoyed their yummy wedding cake made by our pastry chef along with late night snacks!
